2019: What A Crazy Year

Wow, 2019 was a crazy year. It all started out on January 1st, when I woke up unemployed for the first time since the end of college. The plan; to start a new business and to also become licensed to be a teacher.

The start of the business was derailed for a few months after a YouTube opportunity gave me the ability to make a nice sum of money, of which I could use to invest in new equipment for the new venture. Then, in March, I was finally able to knock an item off of my bucket list as I took a train across the country. (You can watch that crazy adventure here).

Finally, In April, I started the business for real. There was only 1 problem. I had 0 clients. I worked hard every day, training, learning new techniques, setting up different aspects of the business, marketing the business and networking. I also started the 100 Days of Business, and ensured that every day, if there was no job, there would still be something accomplished.

Little did I know (or maybe, I kind of did know) that after just a month of the 100 days, things started to pick up. As the months went on, the networking connections provided more connections, and by the end of the year, the company was profitable. And I can trace everything back to the DMV Adventure Videos that I did, and the 100 Days of Business.

I was able to work with so many different clients. I was able to reach outside of real estate to create content for a local artist, for Paul VI Catholic High School and much more.

I was also able to do dozens of more episodes of DMV Adventures (Subscribe!), which is a lot of fun. I plan to continue to do these videos when I have the time, and I hope you continue to watch!

Oh, and after 16 weeks, 57 7+ page papers, and $1000, I can be a teacher. I’m not planning on it yet, but maybe in the future!

So good luck to everyone in 2020! Let’s make this a bigger and better year!
